How can? Uncles and aunties queue early for 50-cent chicken but told they're all sold out

Carrefour Hypermart told the public that there were 500 chickens selling for $0.50 each, but when STOMPer Matrix went down to the outlet, he was told that they were sold out.

He wonders if this is simply an advertising gimmick to get customers to go down to Carrefour, thinking there's a good deal, but end up being told otherwise, making them spend money on other items for sale instead.

Says this STOMPer:

"I went down to Plaza Singapura's Carrefour yesterday, July 2, to queue up for this $0.50 chicken that was advertisend in the papers.

"They said that there were 500 chickens on sale, but when I went down, I saw less than 100 people queuing up, yet the staff told me that the chickens were sold out.

"Althought they advertised first come first serve, it's not possible that 500 chickens were sold out!

"Furthermore, the staff was quite rude, I witnessed one of them fighting with one of the disappointed customers, who was told the same news as me.

"This advertising gimmick made me wastes a lot to go all the way down.

"This is Carrefour, not some supermart in the heartlands, customers actually took time to travel down thinking that there's a good deal.

"I think the Carrefour management didn't handle this properly, I hope they can comment on this.

"I think they have no business, so they just want to bring in the crowd.

"Just want to inform the public to tell them not to get 'cheated' like myself."
